Nurture the relationship with your whole being by connecting with the many parts of your selves: the physical, mental, emotional, and energy body. When we practice awareness and a healthy relationship with ourselves, it extends out into our relationships, job, lifestyle, and how we engage with the world.

YOGA can be for EVERY BODY and experienced in a non-competitive environment where the vibe is warm, gentle, supportive, and fun. Our Hatha yoga classes are suited for all levels with the goal being self-care, not advanced poses. In addition to yoga, you will experience a variety of unique wellness modalities.

Our Nov. 19~23, 2019 Self-care Retreat includes:

  • Evening programs (e.g., restorative yoga, innerdance energy work)

Mala Dhara Weekend Yoga Holiday Retreat – September

Mala Dhara Weekend Yoga Retreats

September

(Doi Saket, Chiang Mai)

Mala Dhara Eco Resort in Doi Saket was envisioned first and foremost as a yoga retreat center to support the Chiang Mai Yoga Community and the increasingly large number of international visitors to Chiang Mai seeking the exploration, study and practice of yoga. While we primarily host yoga retreats created for those pursuing the benefit of specific schools of knowledge and study, we also offer a weekend yoga retreat every month during the high season for anyone who wants to simply get out into nature, escape, get away and leave it all behind, eat only healthy food, play, laugh, learn and ….simply do some yoga. Oh yes, and relax… chill… steam… swim… and breathe.

Our curriculum is carefully crafted by the founder of Mala Dhara, Kru Ploy. Yoga Asana classes will also be taught by Ploy when in residence or by the resident instructor at Mala Dhara during your retreat stay. All resident instructors are carefully chosen based on experience and knowledge.

Duration: 3 Nights & 4 Days

Arrival time is around 2:00 pm on the Thursday afternoon, and our first yoga asana class is that evening, followed by our first meal. We officially begin the first “full day” of our weekend yoga retreat at 7am on the morning of Friday.

This allows you to finish up on Sunday early afternoon with enough time for you to get back to Chiang Mai, just 30 minutes away, while it is still light out.

Lunch is followed by a late room check out of 1:00 on Sunday. The salt water pool and Mala Dhara facilities are available to you for the rest of the afternoon

More recently she enhanced her teaching becoming one of Judith Hanson Lasater’s Relax and Renew® certified restorative yoga teachers and is currently in the process of completing her 500hrs with Tiffany Cruikshank to become a Yoga Medicine certified teacher. She has been practising yoga since her teens and has a background in reiki and the energetic body. Imogen believes yoga is the key to balance in life both on and off the mat. With breath being central to her classes Imogen combines uplifting sequencing with a simple yet potent lunar antidote. Carl Reeder – Ashtanga, Yin, Meditation

Carl Reeder Yoga Retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Carl Reeder

Yoga crossed paths with Carl in 2008 and he ultimately he fell in love with the passionate style and open-heart policy taught at his studio in Denver, Colorado. He completed a 500 hour training with Christen Bakken in the Bhakti Power Vinyasa style and went on to receive a 150 hour certificate in Rocket Vinyasa from Its yoga. Drawing from these two teachers and schools of yoga, Carl’s classes are challenging yet compassionate to all levels of practice. Expect a vigorous and grounded, yet light-heated class with plenty of space for a devotional practice.

ABOUT KERILL:

“Progress in the practice is not linear. Progress comes from revisiting, reanalysing and the ongoing pursuit of the understanding of self. Just as every day starts afresh, every breath is new, every movement is as it has never been before. Through such mindful awareness, we can bring universal transformation.”

Kerill is a dedicated yoga practitioner whose fundamental motivation in teaching is to work with the integrity of the body as a means of accessing the alignment of the breath and spirit. She has a true love of the yogic tradition, modern sciences and the nitty gritty of life.  Bringing these together with a touch of humour, she challenges students to step outside their habits and break free of their self-imposed limitations. She believes strongly in the power of breathwork and mindfulness as a means of accessing the deep recesses of the mind body connection. It is through this that she sees the true workings of yoga in practice.

Kerill is a Yoga Alliance Experienced 500Hour Teacher, a registered PreNatal Teacher and has undergone extensive training as a Yoga Therapist, in Pranayama and in specialized anatomy. She has had a dedicated Ashtanga asana practice for over a decade and has been teaching for over 6 years. She regularly holds specialized yoga workshops in Australia, China and Macau.

Kerill is the Macau ambassador for Yoga Gives Back

She invites students to come to the mat, to dig deeply and find their inner strength – a strength that translates to help them find a means of support during life’s challenges. To find the marriage in mind, body and breath is, to her, one of the greatest gifts we can experience. Kerill feels blessed to follow in the lineage of her teachers and endeavours to honour their wisdom through her understanding of the practice, science, humour and herself.

PLEASE NOTE – at the time of booking, further information regarding the itinerary, what to bring and a travel questionnaire will be sent to you.
