Fierce Compassion

An Ashtanga Yoga Immersion Retreat

December 12th – December 18th 2018

Mala Dhara Yoga Retreat Center

Chiang Mai Thailand

WHAT, WHY, HOW?

Ashtanga Yoga has a reputation as a fierce and fiery yoga practice. What are we truly doing when we turn our hearts, mind and bodies to this yoga practice? Why do we take to our mats on a daily basis? How can we overcome our samskaras to unlock our empathetic natures in a  world that desperately needs fierce and determined compassion?

Join Kerill Yoga on this December retreat at Chiang Mai Mala Dhara which takes us on adventures to confront those elements that block us from truly opening our hearts to compassion. By understanding our true relationship to our world, we can begin to recognize and freely cultivate our own authenticity. In knowing where our personal and shared challenges lie and with tools to assist us in overcoming them, we become a part of the change that is so desperately needed in our modern world.

Together, on this retreat, we experience ethically sourced vegan food, earth created villas, national parks and environmentally designed and protected adventure locations. Our yoga journey takes us into the path of fierce compassion through classes on the nature and overcoming the obstacles to compassion, empathetic hands on assists, gratitude practices, meditation, pranayama and asana practice.

“Progress in the practice is not linear. Just as every day starts afresh, every breath is new, every movement is as it has never been before. Mindful awareness of such progress allows us to find our innate equanimity and compassion. It is my belief that our presence in this practice can bring universal transformation.”

Ashtanga Yoga with Kerill Ezzy Chiang Mai Mala Dhara

Kerill has been a dedicated yoga practitioner for over 10 years. She encourages her students to work with the integrity of their bodies and breath to overcome the barriers that prevent their practices of unconditional compassion. She has a true love of the yogic tradition, modern sciences and the nitty gritty of life.  Bringing these together with a touch of humour, she challenges students to step outside their habits and break free of their self-imposed limitations and fears. She believes strongly in combining anatomical integrity, breathwork and mindfulness as the means of improving the human condition.  It is through this that she sees the true workings of yoga in practice.

Kerill is a Yoga Alliance Experienced 500Hour Teacher, a registered PreNatal Teacher and has undergone extensive training in yoga for therapy/rehabilitation, pranayama and in specialized anatomy. She has had a dedicated Ashtanga asana practice for over a decade and has been teaching for over 7 years. She has held specialized yoga workshops in Australia, USA, China and Macau. Kerill also teaches complimentary yoga practices for sports, recreational and professional physical activities. These include boxing, golf, acrobatics, dance, motorcycle stunt riding, rock climbing and high diving.

Kerill is the Macau ambassador for Yoga Gives Back

She invites students to come to the mat, to dig deeply and find their inner strengths through the awareness and acceptance of impermanence – to find support for life’s challenges but also strength to embrace opportunity free of fear. For her, the philosophy and practice of yoga is a gift to human kind. Kerill feels blessed to follow in the lineage of her teachers and endeavours to honour their wisdom through her understanding of the practice, science, humour and herself.

Although a teacher, Kerill primarily considers herself a student.

Prior to his retirement, she was a student of Michel Besnard (assisted by Roslyn Ying). Her annual studies continue with Paul Dallaghan (pranayama), Arielle Nash-Degagne (anatomy), Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor (asana, philosophy, spirituality). She feels honoured and blessed to call them teachers and friends.

When Kerill is not practicing or teaching, she can be found living her dharma – climbing, hiking, cycling, motorbike riding, surfing, studying or  simply experimenting in her plant based kitchen domain.
